Roy Toy designed and began selling their log cabin building sets in the 1930s. The treehouse building set mimics the stilted houses wilderness pioneers would build to store meat and food, keeping bears out of their provisions. This, most basic building set, follows the construction of a real cabin, a cool framework to think about whether you're a kid or an adult. It reminds us of the story of Dick Proenneke who video documented his time alone in the Alaskan widlerness in the 1960's. Watch a short video of him, single handedly, building his own log cabin here.
If you like the treehouse, but looking for something a little bit smaller, consider a regular log cabin.
