Kudos to designer and frequent ODLCO collaborator, Michael Savona for his recent acceptance into the Society of Typographic Arts Design Archive for the design of “Stories, Notes, and Recipes for Wabi Nabe, the first project by ODLCO.” The booklet features recipes and stories around the production of the Wabi Nabe cast iron pot and was conceived of as a companion piece to each purchase of the pot.
Designed by Michael Savona for ODLCO, “Stories, Notes, and Recipes for Wabi Nabe, the first project by ODLCO” has been selected by the Society of Typographic Arts for the Chicago Design Archive. Five of North America’s most talented and accomplished designers – Andrew Blauvelt, Tom Crabtree, Adam Michaels, Cheryl Towler Weese and Alisa Wolfson – served as judges for the competition. “All pieces exemplify the impeccable standards of creativity and craftsmanship that the STA has represented for more than 80 years,” said Steve Curtis, president of the STA.
An exhibit of all Archive12 selections will be mounted at the Harrington College of Design gallery from October 4 through October 28. Harrington is located at 200 West Madison Street, Chicago. The opening of the exhibit will be celebrated at a Gala on Friday, October 5 from 6:30 pm–9:30 pm. Ticket to the event can be purchased here.
